Guest-dependent spin crossover in a Hofmann-type coordination polymer Fe(4,4′-bipyridyl)[Au(CN)2]2·nGuest

3D coordination polymer iron(II) spin crossover compounds which depend on guest molecules with the formula Fe(4,4′-bpy) [Au(CN)2]2·nGuest were synthesized. We now report the successful synthesis of novel guest-dependent SCO complexes Fe(4,4′-bpy)[Au(CN)2]2·nG (G = benzene), toluene, o-xylene, m-xylene, p-xylene, chloroform). Their guest-dependent spin crossover properties were studied using a SQUID magnetometer.
