Two zinc(II) coordination polymers for selective luminescence sensing of iron(III) ions and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue

Two Zn(II)-based coordination polymers (CPs) have been synthesized. CP 1 exhibits 4-connected sql network with the point symbol {44.62} and extended into a 3D supramolecular framework by the π-π stacking interactions. CP 2 possesses a 3D 3-fold interpenetrating dia network. They display high photocatalytic capacities for degrading the methylene blue (MB) solution. Meanwhile, CP 1 and CP 2 show high selectivity for Fe3+ by fluorescence quenching.202
