Abstract
An unprecedented 1-D iodocuprate aggregate, [Cu4I73â]n, charge balanced by 1-methyl-3-(methylthio)pyrazin-1-ium cations (MMTP), has been synthesized by the reaction of CuI with MMTP iodide at ambient temperature. The structure of the new iodocuprate has been investigated experimentally and theoretically.195
