Abstract
The determined structure of benzyl methyl (3,4-dichlorobenzoyl)carbonohydrazonodithioate, C16H14Cl2N2OS2, has monoclinic (P21/c) symmetry. It is of interest with respect to antibacterial properties. A set of 24 dithioesters was examined in respect of their structural and antibacterial properties. Our studies show that the substitution of the aromatic ring with the hydroxyl group in the ortho position influences strongly the biological activity of the studied compounds against the tested strains.
