Abstract
Two new coordination polymers {Cd(BPDC)·H2O}n (1) and {Cd(BTC)·2H2O}n (2) (H2BPDCâ¯=â¯4,4â²-biphenyl dicarboxylic acid; H3BTCâ¯=â¯1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic acid) based on different organic ligands with CdII ion were synthesized under hydrothermal/solvothermal conditions. The compounds were characterized by single crystal diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis and PXRD. Crystal structure analysis indicates that the coordination environment of CdII in these two compounds are completely different that the CdII ion is six coordination number in compound 1 and seven coordination in compound 2. Furthermore, thermal stabilities for 1 and 2 were also discussed in detail.
