Abstract
2-Amino pyridine bisthiourea zinc sulphate (2-APTZS), a metal organic nonlinear optical singe crystal is grown by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. FTIR and NMR spectral studies confirm the chemical composition and their corresponding functional groups of the grown crystal (2-APTZS). UV-visible NIR spectral study confirms the transmission band in the range 260-900 nm with lower cutoff wavelength at 265 nm. Powder XRD study reveals the crystalline nature of the grown sample. Single crystal XRD study shows that the grown crystal is orthorhombic system of a = 6.45 Ã
, b = 9.57 Ã
, c = 13.25 Ã
, and α = β = γ = 90°. Thermal and dielectric studies of as-grown crystal were studied and discussed. The SHG efficiency of the grown crystal is confirmed by the Kurtz powder technique.
