Abstract
A new (Fe0.51Co0.37Zr0.12)83Mo17 â xCrx (x = 9, 12, 17 at.%) glassy alloy without metalloid elements has been prepared by single roller melt-spinning technique, the effects of Cr substitution for Mo on the formation, thermal behavior, magnetic properties, Vickers hardness and bending ductility of these glassy ribbons have been investigated systematically. The results show that Cr substitution for Mo to the alloy system can remarkably increase the glass forming ability (GFA) and magnetic properties, but decrease the thermal stability and hardness. The glassy sample exhibit certain magnetic properties, the saturation magnetization (Ms) of as-annealed sample can reach up to 123.6 A·m2·kgâ 1 by selecting proper annealing process. In addition, this alloy shows high hardness and high bending ductility.
