Abstract
Glass-ceramic materials of the SrO-BaO-Nb2O5-B2O3-SiO2 system added with various amounts of BaF2 have been prepared by conventional melting and heat treated crystallization method. The effect of BaF2 addition on crystallization kinetics has been explored for dielectric applications. The addition of BaF2 to the glass-ceramics decreases the activation energy of crystallization and enhances the dielectric constant as well as breakdown strength remarkably. Glass-ceramic with a dielectric constant of 63.4, breakdown strength of 1120 kV/mm and energy storage density of 3.52 J/cm3 could be achieved. A new electrode structure could effectively improve the electrical properties, and energy storage density could be increased from 3.52 J/cm3 to 4.82 J/cm3, which is promising in high energy storage density dielectrics.
