Abstract
⺠Eutectic compositions of alumina-lanthana (AL) oxides were made by sol-gel method. ⺠The amorphous oxides were flame-sprayed, forming glassy largely transparent beads. ⺠Beads were consolidated by the Spark Plasma Sintering method at various T and P. ⺠Dense AL glasses were obtained with about 40% transmittance in the visible range. ⺠AL samples had up to about 70% transmittance in the IR range.
