Abstract
⺠A collection of glass weights for coins from Egypt (Fatimid age) was studied; ⺠A recent non-invasive and non-destructive technique (μ-XRF) was applied. ⺠A connection between weight and coin value was found for most samples. ⺠The glass weights are soda-lime-silica glass produced using plant ash. ⺠Glass weights suggest a consolidated tradition of Fatimid glass production.
