Abstract
⺠The difference between S(Q) measured by neutrons and X-rays for molten Al is considerable. ⺠The Al-Si eutectic melt at 1373 K can be viewed as a two-phase system, one Al-rich and one Si-rich. ⺠Eutectic molten Al-Si becomes homogeneous at temperatures (> 1500 K) well above the liquidus (850 K).
