Abstract
⺠The field strength effect of glass modifying cations has been studied on opto-mechanical properties. ⺠The results are discussed in light of NBOs, optical basicity, refractive index and polarisability. ⺠Weibull statistics, fracture toughness and cumulative probability of failure have also been analyzed.
