Abstract
Microstructure of P92 ferritic/martensitic steel irradiated under 3.5 MeV Fe13+ ion beams with a damage rate of â¼1 Ã 10â4 at 700 °C to 1.62 displacements per atom (dpa) was investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). M23C6 and MX precipitates were the dominant phases in the unirradiated samples. Irradiation induced high density Cr-rich Cr2(C,N) precipitates were identified in irradiated samples using TEM. The nucleation of the Cr-rich Cr 2(C,N) precipitates in the irradiated P92 steel at elevated temperature were discussed in detailed.
