Abstract
⺠Well-bonded coatings in AISI 440C were obtained using friction surfacing. ⺠Microstructural evolution in friction surfaced 440C coatings was discussed. ⺠Friction surfaced 440C coatings showed satisfactory corrosion and wear performance. ⺠Friction surfacing was shown to be suitable for wide area coverage.
