Abstract
⺠New magnetic field classification by merging knot theory with MHD is proposed. ⺠Invariants for the configuration and evolution of magnetic fields are specified. ⺠Prime knots are suggested as building blocks of magnetic configurations. ⺠Solar wind field and small-scale current sheets structures are conceived as knots.
