Abstract
We have successfully fabricated half-metallic Sr2FeMoO6 nanopowder of about 65Â nm size with dielectric sheaths of only about 6-9Â nm on the surface by sol-gel technique, where the tuning the magnetoresistance behavior was found to be possible, thereby providing promising opportunity in future spintronic application. Dielectric sheaths became energy barriers between the SFMO grains, resulting in the negative magnetoresistance from the tunneling behavior. The SFMO - SrMoO4 nanocomposite powder with the almost 100% degree of the conduction electron spin polarization has far more flexibility in designing spintronic devices due to the nanosized powder, compared to the case of film or bulky system.391
