Abstract
A great deal of progress in understanding hard probes in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions is reported in the 8-th International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High Energy Nuclear Collisions. This brief summary is my attempt to summarize what's reported in the theory and modelling of hard and electromagnetic probes in this conference.
