Abstract
We theoretically study production of a ÎÎ hypernucleus CÎÎ16 in a (Kâ,K+) reaction on an 16O target at pKâ=1.8GeV/c, within a distorted-wave impulse approximation. The calculated spectrum provides promising peaks of the ÎÎ bound and excited states of CÎÎ16 in a one-step mechanism KâpâK+Îâ via Îâ doorways caused by a ÎâpâÎÎ coupling, rather than in a two-step mechanism as KâpâÏ0Î followed by Ï0pâK+Î. The cross sections and Îâ admixture probabilities are discussed in terms of the ÎN-ÎÎ coupling in the nucleus.
