Abstract
The contribution describes the first observation in the ATLAS experiment of W and Z bosons produced in s=7TeV collisions. Results for both electron and muon final states are presented, corresponding to an integrated luminosity ranging from 6.4 to 7.9 nbâ1, depending on the specific channel. The selection yields 17 Wâeν and 40 Wâμν candidates, in agreement with Monte Carlo expectations.
