Abstract
The number of electronic devices and wireless communication has significantly increased over the last 20 years. Planar structures dedicated for shielding applications become more important in scientific research, where the electromagnetic modeling of this kind of shielding devices is considered complicated. Nowadays, it is important to enhance simulation tools and develop new techniques to predict their electromagnetic properties of these devices. In fact, various numerical methods attain rapidly their limits to treat many electromagnetic problems that need more CPU time and memory storage. In consequence, this paper proposes a new formulation based on the MoM-GEC approach combined with wave concept to study the given complex planar structures. Especially, the proposed method is focused to treat a 1D and 2D planar iris that shielded in waveguide problem. To validate this work, several investigations are held in terms of coupling effects, diffraction and radiation characteristics. A good comparison is achieved by using HFSS and CST softwares.
