Abstract
The present paper focuses on the effect of ZrO2 nanoparticles high-temperature modification on the structure, optical properties, grain size distribution, and radiation stability of the barium sulphate powder. The modification leads to the decreasing reflectance capacity in the UV region with a maximum at 205 nm. The depositing nanoparticles block the formation of BaSO4 powder granules. Applying ZrO2 nanoparticles results in the growing radiation stability of barium sulphate powders by means of reducing the absorption bands intensity at 270-280, 375-395, 440-460, 500-600, 700, and 950 nm.
