Abstract
⺠Connexin 32 mutants W3D and Y7D do not form functional channels. ⺠1H NMR structures show alterations in the flexible turn around G12. ⺠Altered turn around G12 was reported previously in nonfunctional G12S and G12Y mutants. ⺠Connexin mutants G12S, G12Y, W3D and Y7D are not membrane inserted. ⺠Loss of turn around G12 may target misfolded Connexins for degradation.
