Abstract
⺠We studied N-homocysteinylation of ovine prion in vitro. ⺠Modification results in introduction of homocysteine to at least K197 and K207. ⺠Homocysteinylation leads to formation of aggregates about 1 μm. ⺠Homocysteinylation provokes an increase of content in beta-sheet content. ⺠Changes in physico-chemical properties indicate amyloid-like transformation.
