Abstract
⺠Myriocin impairs the uptake of transferrin and LDL in mammalian cells at 37 °C. ⺠Transferrin uptake inhibition is released by sphingoid base, PMA and okadaic acid. ⺠Myriocin effects not only sphingolipids but also glycerophospholipids. ⺠Myriocin alters phosphatidylcholine species in direction to sphingomyelin.
