Abstract
⺠Hydrogen peroxide is increased in pancreas due to low catalase in pancreas, high glucose and catalase mutations. ⺠It may damage the insulin producing pancreatic beta cells. ⺠Inherited catalase deficiency seems to be a further risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus especially in females.
