Abstract
⺠The mutation in variant F413Y of KatE introduces a new reactive center. ⺠Main chain cleavage at R111 and T115 results. ⺠The side chains of Arg111, Thr115 and Tyr413 are modified. ⺠Catalytic turnover is required for the reactions to occur.
