Abstract
⺠JHBP carries juvenile hormone signal to target tissues. ⺠Although JHBP does not contain Trp residues it exhibits fluorescence at 420 nm. ⺠The unusual fluorescence of JHBP was due to the formation of dityrosine residues. ⺠ROS-mediated oxidation involves in vivo generation of cross-linked JHBP monomers. ⺠The dityrosine bridge occurs between the Y128 and Y130 residues.
