Abstract
⺠ER stress suppressed insulin-mediated Akt phosphorylation and glucose uptake. ⺠Tanshinone IIA significantly reduced ER stress-impaired insulin action. ⺠Knockdown of AMPKα2 abolished Tanshinone IIA-mediated insulin sensitivity. ⺠Tanshinone IIA enhanced insulin sensitivity by increasing AMPK activity.
