Abstract
⺠Cardiac myosin regulatory light chain (MYL2) is phosphorylated at S15. ⺠Smooth muscle myosin light chain kinase (smMLCK) is a ubiquitous kinase. ⺠It is a widely believed that MYL2 is a poor substrate for smMLCK. ⺠In fact, smMLCK efficiently and rapidly phosphorylates S15 in MYL2. ⺠Phosphorylation kinetics measured by novel fluorescence method without radioactivity.
