Abstract
► By using RNA interference, fluid secretion from the isolated guinea-pig pancreatic duct cells is markedly decreased to ∼50% of control. ► Both CFTR and aquaporin 1 expression were decreased when CFTR expression was inhibited by RNA interference. ► This reduction of fluid secretion can be seen as a cause of developing chronic pancreatitis.
