Abstract
⺠Fluorescent hydrophobic rods incorporate into lipid and biological membranes. ⺠Rods accumulate in liquid disordered domains. ⺠Rods embed into the bilayer perpendicular to the membrane surface. ⺠Rods do not disturb membrane structure and dynamics.
