Abstract
⺠We study ripple and stripe domains in lipid bilayer membranes. ⺠We use combined AFM and fluorescence microscopy. ⺠Stripe domains consist of ripples running parallel to the stripes. ⺠Thick and thin stripes correspond to long and short ripple periods respectively. ⺠Thin stripes nucleate on gel domains.
