Abstract
⺠Termination of transcription in mitochondria is not well characterized. ⺠Human MTERF1 mediates termination at a major site in tRNALeu. ⺠MTERF1 utilizes a unique binding mechanism to promote termination. ⺠There are connections between transcription termination and mtDNA replication. ⺠Other MTERF family members have been implicated in termination and replication.
