Abstract
⺠Retinoid binding-proteins chaperone atRA biogenesis and function. ⺠Retinol dehydrogenases (short-chain dehydrogenase gene family) catalyze atRA biogenesis. ⺠Multiple Rdh and Radlh (Aldh gene family) catalyze contribute to atRA biosynthesis. ⺠atRA regulates its biosynthesis via redirecting retinol into retinyl esters.
