Abstract
Post-race cardiac troponin concentrations exceeded diagnostic criteria for MI in the majority of subjects, more often for hs-cTnT than for hs-cTnI, and more pronounced in women than in men. The current biomarker criteria for MI discriminate poorly between an exercise induced troponin increase and acute MI.
