Abstract
⺠IGF system components play crucial role in bone turn-over and determining BMD. ⺠Calcaneal BMD was measured in 165 South-Indian women using peripheral DEXA. ⺠Serum IGF system components and bone turn-over markers were also quantified. ⺠While IGF-II & IGFBP-3 positively correlated with BMD, BP-4 correlated negatively. ⺠Correlations were significant after adjusting age, menopause & physical activity.
