Abstract
⺠Presence of albumin fragments in serum or urine of renal patients is a new finding. ⺠Different small fragments were found in serum of hemodialysis patients by proteomics. ⺠Oxidative stress and increased proteolysis of uremia may cause albumin fragmentation. ⺠Modifications of albumin structure and function may have a role in uremic syndrome.
