Abstract
⺠APOE polymorphisms are thought to play a role in OSAS. ⺠We genotyped APOE polymorphism in 293 OSAS patients. ⺠APOE ε2 allele carriers showed reduced sleep quality compared to other genotypes. ⺠ε2 allele carriers are more likely to suffer with OSAS detrimental effects on sleep. ⺠APOE gene may modulate the effects of intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation.
