Abstract
Delays, in either transportation to the laboratory after collection or before completion of analysis, have the potential to elevate ammonia concentrations and may cause pseudo-hyperammonemia. Unexpectedly elevated ammonia concentrations need to be evaluated for errors in sampling handling.
