Abstract
⺠Patients with type 2 diabetes exhibit adipocyte hypertrophy and shortened telomeres. ⺠Hypoadiponectinemia is associated with cellular hypertrophy in both fat depots. ⺠Asian Indian patients with type 2 diabetes exhibit a state of 'metabolic obesity'.
