Abstract
⺠We looked for an early indicator of metabolic syndrome (MetS). ⺠Study included middle-aged men divided into two groups: controls and MetS-diagnosed. ⺠Anthropometric, biochemical, haematological and oxidative stress parameters were assessed. ⺠There was no difference in oxidative damage parameters. ⺠The algorithms singled out fatty liver index (FLI) as the best variable for diagnosing MetS.
