Abstract
- Knock-in mice that express catalytically-inactive Polk have been established.
- Mutations at CpG and GpG sites where MMC forms cross-links were enhanced in the mice.
- DNA strand breaks induced by MMC were also enhanced in the mice.
- Polk mediates error-free bypass across MMC cross-links and averts DNA strand breaks.
