Abstract
Ethanol stress enhanced S. cerevisiae cell mortality through promoting more yeast cell swollen. Ethanol stress associated-loosening of cell membrane caused yeast cell to proactively remodel membrane to be motre agreeable to the increase of environmental threat. To some extent, this can be considered as a defensive act to the ethanol stress by S. cerevisiae cells. Increased ethanol stress made S. cerevisiae cell membrane more fluidized and elastic, and more changeable cell membrane would further facilitate yeast cell survival.
