Abstract
Doxorubicin (Dox) significantly reduces bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) while increasing breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) in tumor-bearing mice; those effects are correlated with the levels of glucosylceramide synthase (GCS), that enzyme regulates ceramide glycosylation and the synthesis of glycosphingolipids (GSLs).
