Abstract
⺠Human placenta metabolizes exogenous 7DHC to 7DHP. ⺠Epidermal keratinocytes metabolize both exogenous and endogenous 7DHC to 7DHP. ⺠Intermediates of the pathway are 22(OH)7DHC and 20,22(OH)27DHC. ⺠7DHP is metabolized to 7-dehydroprogesterone and hydroxy-7DHP. ⺠7DHP inhibits keratinocyte proliferation.
