Abstract
⺠AGE-alb induced the expression of ER stress and unfolded protein response markers. ⺠Inhibition of ER stress restored ABCA-1 in AGE-alb-treated macrophages. ⺠Inhibition of ER stress restored cholesterol efflux in AGE-alb-treated macrophages. ⺠Tunicamycin-induced ER stress impaired ABCA-1 expression and functionality. ⺠Proteasomal inhibition did not recover ABCA-1 in AGE-alb-treated macrophages.
