Abstract
⺠We investigate how HIF-1 activity increases gradually along decreasing oxygen. ⺠pVHL binds FIH, which promotes the FIH binding to HIF-1α. ⺠The pVHL-FIH interaction depends on oxygen tension, and thus, the FIH inactivation of HIF-1α is regulated along the severity of hypoxia.
