Abstract
- Synthesis and characterization of novel Ru(II) complexes (Ru-1 to Ru-8) bearing R-pdc, pbinh ligands and there in vitro cytotoxic activity.
- Some of these complexes exhibited more potent antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines than the standard drug cisplatin.
- Complex Ru-2 was the most active and 2-fold more potent than cisplatin against L1210 with IC50 value of 0.68 μmol/L, but was less potent against BEL7402 cell line.
- DNA-binding, DNA cleavage and protein binding properties of these ruthenium complexes are reported.
