Abstract
SIF (Glycine max) ameliorates hypertriglyceridemia and hepatic steatosis in high fat-fed ovariectomized Wistar rats (an experimental model of postmenopausal obesity: the molecular mechanisms. Both OVX and HFD, by themselves and by their association, caused increased lipogenesis in association with decreased lipolysis. This results in the development of hypertriglyceridemia and ultimately hepatic steatosis (increased fat accumulation in the liver). Treatment with SIF significantly restored the lipid metabolism and improved hepatic steatosis.183
