Abstract
⸠There is good evidence for benefits produced by 25(OH)D values above 20 ng/mL. ⸠Results of RCTs of vitamin D at doses below 800 IU/d have been inconsistent. ⸠Inadequate dose and failure to consider basal vitamin D status are partial reasons. ⸠For nutrients, the relevant question is not “whether?” but “how much?”. ⸠RCTs are poorly suited to answer such qualitative questions.
